CMPC and Boreal Bioproducts agree co-operation
CMPC Ventures and Boreal Bioproducts® have signed an agreement of a co-operation. The objectives for the co-operation are to exploit CMPC’s woody side-streams with Boreal Bioproducts’ PHWE technology platform. Aim is to produce novel carbohydrate and phenolic compounds, and further develop those to sustainable applications, and to substitute fossil ingredients. Boreal Bioproduct’s process is based entirely on using water as the solvent and renewable bioenergy sources, hence with a minimal GHG impact.
CMPC Ventures is excited collaborate with Boreal Bioproducts, seeing the high potential of sustainable technology that can integrate to the forest industry value chain, and provide more value to existing side-streams.
Boreal Bioprodutcs is a Finland based biorefinery startup. It’s mission is to convert forest industry side-streams into valuable ingredients for the personal care and chemical industries. It enables the transition towards bioeconomy. The growing offering of ingredients consists of SpruceSugar™ polysaccharides, SpruceLigno™ lignins, SpruceFiber™ specialty fibers, SpruceGlue™ phenolic oligosaccharides and SpruceTanning™ tannin rich polyphenols.
